Department Calendar the missing link in Domino C&S:
Enterprise Feedback
The initial situation which prompted our organization
to search for a Group Calendaring solution was… We
needed to have one place to go to find groups' information,
plus the ability to have a maintainer put an entry
in one place and push it to people's personal calendars… When
you've got a good product, it's hard to improve on
it.

…Biggest factor is being able to replicate
it to laptops and take it with you and the fact that
it synchronizes with your personal calendar.

We have found that the business need
for shared calendaring is real. Department Calendar
has provided the solution to our needs at a reasonable
price.

I highly recommend Department
Calendar for users that want an easy and effective
way to get their teams organized. This is simply the
best option for enhanced group calendaring in the marketplace.
Don’t count on Lotus Notes R6 calendaring to
have all of the features that Department Calendar provides.
To develop a solution that is this robust would be
cost prohibitive for most companies.
It is perfect for large organizations
that have many departments that need coordination among
its members. This is where the product’s true
value is derived: Economies of scale – The larger
the company the more time saved. The price is very
reasonable for the benefits derived. It would cost
a large organization a few dollars per employee based
on the CPU licensing structure that Logic Springs uses.
Logic Springs has got it right. Department
Calendar is a great value for the price. The product
is simple to install and easy to use. Department Calendar’s
seamless integration with Lotus Notes Calendar and
Scheduling combined with its layout flexibility make
it the obvious choice for your calendaring needs.

During research, I explored the various
features of Department Calendar and was impressed by
the user-friendly interface and the scalability of
information interchange between the user's individual
Notes calendar and the Departmental Calendar. The interaction
between the two calendaring systems is smooth and unobtrusive
to the user... I love being able to sit at my desk
and know if one of the techs is in the lab or has gone
somewhere. Sure does cut my walking and hunting time
down!

I did shop around. However, based on
like products, and considering the costs of writing
programs, R&D, marketing, support, and all the
other factors your company absorbs, I feel the cost
of this product is very fair. Trust me, I would not
have recommended that my client purchase Department
Calendar if I thought the price unfair or too high.
(Side note: My supervisor, who is less Scot than me,
commented "the pricing is great!").

I would like to tell you how easy it was to upgrade to version 7.5 of Department Calendar for the iSeries. Just a few steps and it was done! Everyone is so excited about the new calendars and all the new options. I had a day scheduled to do this. I thought it would be a day to load and days or weeks to "tweak" everything.
Instead, I found it easy, quick and painless, a download and upload and a couple of buttons to click! I just wish I would have done it sooner. Your support person was great! He directed me to the download zip and documentation. He was right there with everything I needed. He is great support and fun to work with.

IBM/Lotus Domino community take note:
Logic Springs is a different kind of software company.
From pre-sale inquiry to post-sale support,
there is a conscious effort to understand why I've
called, and to spend whatever time is necessary with
me to assist with my needs. The support people are
deeply curious about understanding the problem, trouble-shooting,
and providing pointers and information along the way
that are very useful in helping us leverage the application
and extract maximum value for our organization. There
is no rush. The session is finished when I am satisfied
the problem is resolved. This shows every time I've
spoken with Logic Springs' people. They are different...it’s
a refreshing experience!

With Department Calendar, all of our
employees whether in the office or at a remote site
can stay up-to-date on all the companies events and
activities. No more time is wasted faxing personal
calendars to one another. Remote users are tied into
all the company’s activities through the use
of replication or the internet. There are currently
25 users up and running on Department Calendar and
when the roll-out is complete, 200 people will be well-connected
and informed. Our Notes Administrator sums it up by
saying, "I believe this product pays for itself
easily by freeing up our users' time.

Department Calendar allows our departments to keep track of each other's schedules
and always know where everyone is. It has really made a difference for our
remote users they can stay up-to-date on everything that's going on. It has
greatly enhanced our communication and organization within the company. In
fact, our President's response after seeing the benefits of Department Calendar
was, 'This is a great product! We need to have everyone using it!

They (users) really needed a way to see their entire department's schedule
in one calendar. The network scheduling software (which) had provided this
functionality for up to 15 people and the users missed it. The DOE was in
need of a group calendar add-on for the Lotus Notes/ Domino platform.
